Cook Mode
A full-screen, flour-on-your-hands view of your recipe, one step at a time.
Starting Cook Mode
Open a recipe and press Cook. The recipe takes over the screen: one step at a time in large type, a progress bar across the top, and the ingredient panel alongside. A ☀ Screen stays on marker means your display will not sleep mid-proof. You can toggle that right in the cook-mode header.
Move with Next step and Back (or the arrow keys). At the end, Finish · log it opens the trial log. Need to step away? ✕ Exit saves your place and leaves a resume strip at the top of your library.
Timers
Any step with a duration shows a timer. Press ▶ Start and it keeps running as you move between steps. You can run several at once, a proof timer going while a glaze simmers. Running timers stay visible and keep counting even after you leave the step that started them.
Ingredient check-off
Each step shows chips for the ingredients it uses, with exact amounts. Tap a chip to mark it used (it checks off with a ✓) so a mid-step interruption cannot make you double-salt the dough. The full ingredient list sits in the side rail (or a slide-up sheet on mobile) and mirrors your step marks: an ingredient shows done only once every step that uses it is checked off, so the list honestly answers what you still have left to add.
Cook Mode always cooks one specific version, the one you opened, and its version number stays in the corner the whole time. Finish, and the log prompt can turn what you just tasted into the next version.
